What the Snapshot indicators can—and cannot—show

Each result is a fixed calculation from the monthly totals and counts entered. The formulas summarize those inputs; they do not verify records or explain what caused a result.

Four free indicators use three monthly totals

The free report uses invoiced revenue, payments collected, and listed operating costs. It shows the collected-to-invoiced ratio, the difference between those totals, collected payments less listed costs, and the share remaining after listed costs.

These figures are not invoice matching, accounts receivable, accounting profit, or a full cash-flow statement. The report uses the totals as entered.

Complete adds five indicators from seven counts

The one-time Complete report adds the Sales Pipeline, Job Activity, and Customer Mix sections. Seven counts—leads received, quotes sent and accepted, jobs completed and cancelled, and new and returning customers served—produce five additional indicators.

The ratios compare period totals, not matched cohorts. For example, quotes sent in a month may relate to leads from an earlier month. The job cancellation figure excludes jobs still open or scheduled, and the customer share does not identify customers or explain why they returned.

Treat each result as a limited view

Pencairn does not connect to accounting, banking, invoice, or customer records. It does not verify submitted figures, benchmark a business, forecast a future period, or establish why a change occurred. Zero-denominator ratios are shown as unavailable; amounts are displayed to two decimal places and percentages to one.
